Bil Senedd Cymru (Rhestrau Ymgeiswyr Etholiadol)| Senedd Cymru (Electoral Candidate Lists) Bill

Ymateb gan Unigolyn | Evidence from Individual

What are your views on the general principles of the Bill and the need for legislation to deliver the Welsh Government’s stated policy objective (to make the Senedd a more effective legislature by ensuring it is broadly representative of the gender make-up of the population)?

Gender should have nothing to do with it. The best person and most qualified should be on the list. There is no need to add people to a list who are only there to make up the numbers

What are your views on the system of enforcement and potential sanctions for non-compliance proposed in the Bill?

What is a woman? The stupidest question of the 21st century. Too many politicians cannot or will not just admit there are two sexes. A man in a dress is not a woman. Why all this equality on this level why not how many GSCE's you have or A Levels or degrees.

Are there any potential barriers to the implementation of the Bill’s provisions? If so, what are they, and are they adequately taken into account in the Bill and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum and Regulatory Impact Assessment?

People will be added to the list just to make up numbers. It is not what I want to see. I want to know who I am voting for , what are their names who are they etc

Are any unintended consequences likely to arise from the Bill?

I as a voter am not happy with this idea. For me it is wasting money which can be best used elsewhere in society. This is not a good idea but rather a vanity project.

What are your views on the Welsh Government’s assessment of the financial and other impacts of the Bill?

Wasting money. More members claiming more money for doing less work. So much money is wasted it is time to stop such wastage.

What are your views on the balance between the information contained on the face of the Bill and what is left to subordinate legislation? Are the powers for Welsh Ministers to make subordinate legislation appropriate?

I am assuming these lists are closed list which means this seems to be undemocratic. I have no faith in any ministers making any decisions which are not scrutinised completely.

Do you have any views on matters relating to the legislative competence of the Senedd including compatibility with the European Convention on Human Rights?

Do you have any views on matters related to the quality of the legislation, or to the constitutional or other implications of the Bill?

This Bill will put a lot of people off politics and they will take no interest in anything.

Are there any other issues that you would like to raise about the Bill and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum or any related matters?

Explain and define what a woman is? Let everyone see clearly what the Welsh Governments definition is and is in the real world

Anything else?

Stop this Bill now. It is not necessary and not needed. Wales simply does not need more politicians those it has are not up to the grade.
